How do I arrange an appointment with Green Shoots Psychology?

You can contact us directly or be referred by your GP.  We recommend that you take advantage of one of our free 20 minute consultations to talk to us about your concerns and to see if we are the right service for you.

How long will my appointment be?

Initial therapeutic assessments and therapy sessions are usually 50 minutes long. Extended Initial Assessments are 90 minutes. Neuropsychological assessments are usually longer and the length depends on the assessments being conducted. An autism diagnostic assessment usually takes about half a day but can be longer if school observations or a neuropsychological assessment is needed.

What do you charge for sessions?

A standard therapy session varies in cost depending on whether you are paying yourself or are funded by private health insurance.  Please contact us by telephone or email for further details.

Neuropsychological  and autism diagnostic assessments can be arranged. The cost depends on the length of the assessment needed and the purpose/length of the report.

Can you tell me more about the locations you use for sessions?

We primarily use two locations for the assessment and therapy sessions.

In Brighton we use the Brighton Consulting Rooms which are located close to Preston Park train station.  Their postal address is 18 Clermont Road, Brighton, BN1 6SG.  Free street parking is available and a bike rack is directly outside.  You can also travel to the venue by train or bus (the 5 and 5A from Hove, the 17, 40 and 273 from Churchill Square, or the 40X from Kemptown).

In Lewes we use the Subud Centre in central Lewes, just off Station Street.  Their postal address is Subud Centre, 26a Station Street, Lewes, BN7 2DB. For parking information please follow this link.
It may be possible to arrange sessions in other locations, such as London.

Do you offer telephone or Skype sessions?

Yes we do. It is possible to conduct a session by telephone or Skype if you prefer or if your location makes it difficult to come for face to face sessions.

I'm not sure if I'm ready for therapy or if you could help me with my problems.

We recognise that making the decision to speak to someone about your difficulties can be a big step. We offer a free 20 minute consultation to consider whether we are the right service for you at this time.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes we do. As it is very difficult to fill cancelled sessions at short notice we ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice for cancelling an appointment. If you are unable to give 48 hours notice we will unfortunately have to take full payment for your appointment.

What private health insurers are you registered with?

We are currently registered with:

AXA PPP Healthcare

Pru Health

We can also accept customers with Simply Health Insurance.

Please check with your health insurers to check that the policy you have will cover the type of work you are enquiring about and any limits on cost per session or number of sessions they may have. Please note that some private health insurers require a referral letter from your GP or a Psychiatrist.
