Therapeutic Interventions
As Clinical Psychologists we are trained and experienced in using a number of evidence-based therapeutic models in our clinical work. The models we draw from will be based on your preference, the information we gather during our assessment and our knowledge of what models would be best suited to working towards positive change. We take a holistic, integrative approach to thinking about you as a person, your current situation, the people around you and your values and goals.
We are trained in and draw from a number of approaches including:
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Systemic models
-
Narrative Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
-
Mindfulness techniques
-
Parenting models
- Neuropsychological models
Assessment
We understand that opening up to someone about your concerns and difficulties can feel daunting. We encourage you to book a free 20 minute initial telephone consultation so you can get a better understanding of whether we are the right people for you to meet with and what we would offer you. If you decided to take this further one of us would meet with you to assess your needs and gather information to plan our therapeutic intervention. Throughout this process we would hope to start to build a sense of trust and understanding between us.
In addition to general psychological assessment we can offer:
-
Neuropsychological Assessment; this can help build a cognitive profile, looking for strengths and weaknesses, to support a diagnosis of a specific learning disorder and to provide educational recommendations.
-
Autism Diagnostic Assessment; we have specialist experience in identifying autism and are qualified in the use of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and the Developmental, Dimensional and Diagnostic Interview (3di). Please note, we do not offer full ADHD assessments but can screen to see if a further ADHD assessment would be warranted.
Please contact us for more information as these assessments will be tailored to your needs.
