How do I arrange an appointment with Green Shoots Psychology?

You can contact us directly or be referred by your GP.  You may want to book a free 20 minute consultation to talk to us about your concerns and to see if we are the right service for you.

How long will my appointment be?

Initial therapeutic assessments and therapy sessions are usually 50 to 60 minutes long. Extended Initial Assessments are 90 minutes.

What do you charge for sessions?

A standard therapy session varies in cost depending on whether you are paying yourself or are funded by private health insurance and tends to range between £110 and £130.  Please contact us by telephone or email for further details.

Autism and autism/ADHD diagnostic assessments can be arranged. The cost depends on the length of the assessment needed and the purpose/length of the report.

Can you tell me more about the locations you use for sessions?

Much of the work we do is online via Zoom.  In terms of face to face sessions in Brighton we use Fiveways Therapy Rooms in just above Fiveways on the Ditchling Road next to St Matthias Church.  Their postal address is 360 Ditchling Road, Brighton, BN1 6JG. Street parking is available.  We also use therapy rooms close to Queen’s Park.  Please contact us for further details.

It may be possible to arrange sessions in other locations, please contact us to discuss this further.

Do you offer online or telephone sessions?

Yes we do. It is possible to conduct a session by Zoom, MS Teams or telephone if you prefer or if your location makes it difficult to come for face to face sessions.

I'm not sure if I'm ready for therapy or if you could help me with my problems.

We recognise that making the decision to speak to someone about your difficulties can be a big step. We offer a free 20 minute consultation to consider whether we are the right service for you at this time.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes we do. As it is very difficult to fill cancelled sessions at short notice we ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice for cancelling an appointment. If you are unable to give 48 hours notice we will unfortunately have to take full payment for your appointment.

Can I use my private health insurance to pay for sessions?

We are currently registered with a range of private health insurers, please contact us for further details of which insurers we are registered with.

Please check with your health insurers to check that the policy you have will cover the type of work you are inquiring about and any limits on cost per session or number of sessions you may have. Please note that some private health insurers require a referral letter from your GP or a Psychiatrist.
